2022 Wishlist | 3D Printing For Ceramics

Are you interested in 3D printed ceramics? Look no further than the 3D PotterBot line of 3D printers that will open up a whole new world of possibilities for you or your students to create ceramic pieces that just aren’t possible without this technology.
3D Potter printers use high-quality anodized aluminum rails. These rails are robust and have a smooth surface, allowing for easy movement of parts while being able to withstand classroom or industrial environments. All materials used to build our clay printers are food-grade.
A unique feature of 3D Potterbot’s ceramic printers is the direct extrusion of real clay. Other brands use a compressed air system printing with slip (a watered-down clay or alcohol-diluted clay). No need to add chemicals, or use special mixtures.
The 10th generation brings a new wireless feature with a full web interface controlled over WiFi. You can now control and upload files to the printer from multiple devices simultaneously. The interface allows you full control over every setting of the machine. Interface preview.
An improved nozzle design for performance and made of aluminum for durability. Nozzles are now interchangeable and can be used with all of our 3D Printers.
Check out our 3D PotterBot line below!
• 3D PotterBot Micro 10
The 10 Micro is our entry-level 3D ceramic printer. This is an ideal printer for the classroom, or for an artist interested in 3D ceramic printing technology. It features a 1,000ml extruder with a build envelope of up to 1 foot. Even though this is our smallest 3D clay printer, it is capable of high print speeds. The 10 Micro’s compact design can fit in almost any space.

The 10 PRO is the first printer in our lineup that uses hybrid motors on every axis. Utilizing the hybrid stepper motor with our clay extruder gives you faster extrusion speeds and higher volume output. This means you can use larger nozzles and reduce print time. The hybrid stepper motor on the extruder is capable of higher forces so a thicker paste material can be extruded. The motors have their own internal torque settings, so if there is a blockage, they will shut themselves off automatically.
As the name suggests, this printer is preferred by professionals who like to print multiple vessels at a time or many single prints back to back.
• 3D PotterBot Super 10
The SUPER 10 ceramic 3D printer model has a more robust construction to carry the higher volume of 3600 ml clay extruder. This large hybrid motor extruder is capable of much faster speeds of extrusion than our standard model 10. Large prints or sequential object printing can be accomplished without changing the tubes so it is ideal for a production environment. If large prints is what you are looking for, you can also consider the 10XL, or the Scara models.

• 3D PotterBot 10 XL
The 10 XL ceramic 3D printer can print vessels up to 28″ (71cm) high. The 10 XL has the largest extruder out of all of our printers, holding 18 pounds of clay. This lets you print more and reload less. With a 4000ml extruder, you can print dozens of objects and still have clay left over.

Recommended Materials

Nothing will impact your 3D printing results like the kind of filament you use. Good filament is highly consistent in diameter, is wound evenly onto the spool with just the right amount of tension, and will not tangle when being unwound.
Next to using high-quality filament, good print bed adhesion is often the key to avoiding failed prints. Our friends at Magigoo have produced an excellent and detailed reference for ensuring successful prints with various materials. Check out the guide here.

• 3DU Terrafillum (30% off through December 31, 2022!)
Our customers love our 3D Universe Terrafilum materials! These materials are exceptionally high-quality, ensuring a perfect print every time. Our collection already includes many different material and color options, and we’re constantly adding new ones. All 3D Universe Terrafilum materials are produced locally, right here in the United States, with eco-friendly manufacturing methods. And our spool recycling program makes it easy for our customers to join us in protecting our environment!
• 3D Universe Nylon Carbon Fiber
This nylon material is reinforced with chopped carbon fibers, providing the strength of nylon combined with the stiffness of carbon fiber. This helps to significantly reduce the warping tendency of traditional nylon, making it easier to print. This material has a fantastic matte finish with a bit of a sparkle, resulting from the carbon fiber.

• Ultimaker materials
At 3D Universe, we’ve seen a tremendous amount of interest in Ultimaker’s proprietary brand of filament. While most brands of filament will perform well with Ultimaker 3D printers, for institutional or professional buyers wanting to conform as closely as possible with the manufacturer’s exact specifications, Ultimaker filament is often the most logical choice.
All Ultimaker brand materials are NFC-enabled, allowing them to be automatically detected when used with the Ultimaker 3, Ultimaker 3 Extended, Ultimaker S3, or Ultimaker S5.
• Metal Infused Materials
Did you know you can print metal parts with your existing desktop 3D printer? Most printers can! We offer metal-infused filaments that can be printed on most 3D printers (a hardened steel nozzle is highly recommended). We even offer stainless steel materials that can be sent to a third-party for debinding and sintering, resulting in production-quality steel parts! It’s an exciting time to own a 3D printer!

• Kodak materials
Kodak brought their color expertise to the world of 3D printing with their own line of 3D printer filaments. We have a variety of materials and colors available to choose from at some great prices, so give it a try!
• Soluble Support Materials
If your 3D printer supports dual-extrusion, you can use one extruder to print your object and the other extruder to print a soluble support material that can be dissolved after the print is finished. This makes it possible to print more advanced and complex objects that would be difficult or impossible to print otherwise. These soluble supports also leave behind a much nicer surface finish than traditional break-away supports.

Recommended Accessories

Need some tools to help make your 3D printing life easier? From bed adhesion and multitools to filament dry boxes to keep your materials lasting longer, we have a few great product recommendations for you below!
• Magigoo 3D printing adhesives
Magigoo 3D Printing Adhesives offer a great way for ensuring your prints stick perfectly to the build plate, even when printing with more challenging materials like nylon, polypropylene, or polycarbonate.

• Modifi3D Pro
Modifi3D PRO is an evolution of the 3D print tool. It is now tougher and has more power. We have added adjustable temperature control with an LCD display. Temperature can now be set up to 450ºC to allow for the future potential of new tips and attachments. The PRO is designed to replace much of the sanding, scraping, and snapping to finish off your 3D prints, and comes with 10 interchangeable tips. The new improved tips are stronger than before and provide more functions including the ability to produce countersinks and setting threaded inserts.
• PrintDry Pro
This filament drying system container can hold up to two standard spools (up to 8″ OD) and features an automatic humidity control and built-in timer. Simply set the desired temperature and time, put in the filament, and PrintDry will get to work! PrintDry is the quick, easy, and secure way to store your filaments hassle-free.
